She swam up to the pedestal with the uncolored orb atop it. It was nested in decayed seaweed and dead moss, tethered to the wooden floor of the inside the sunken ship. Remains of the crew, still seated or floating in the mess hall, appeared to have been caught by death in a moment they didn't see coming or going.
She brushed the moss aside. On the pedestal, a symbol of a flower. The flower looked familiar. It looked like the one that briefly grew near the Tree when its Guardian returned. It had been a lifetime since she was able to embrace her Druidic magic, now that the Taint had been removed. She was hesitant... but she reached out with her mana and restored the moss and seaweed with new Life. A simple spell, one that all Druids know. It was indescribably incredible to feel it again and it almost overpowered her emotions.
As the moss transformed from the brown mess of death into a deep green thriving tangle of life, the symbol of the flower traced itself in golden light all the way to the orb on the pedestal. From the orb, a sudden bright gold glow of swirling light temporarily blinded her in this darkness. She smiled.
She felt the vibrations in the water behind her. She turned.
The crew was slowly coming back to life, growing skin and hair. They turned towards the light and began to swim towards it, getting stronger as more of their bodies returned.
